Manufacturing, warehouse and construction trade workers for the industrial estates along EastLink and the Frankston Freeway.
Bluestone Labour Group supplies production hands, storepersons, forklift operators and labourers to manufacturers, warehouses and construction businesses in Carrum Downs, Seaford and Langwarrin. Below is the work we see in Frankston's industrial estates, the roles that fit it and how a booking works.
Carrum Downs, Seaford and Langwarrin are in the City of Frankston, and state policy protects their industrial land as regionally significant. The council's 2019 industrial land review counts four core precincts covering about 416 hectares. Carrum Downs is the largest and newest at around 262 hectares, with more large format buildings, and manufacturing and construction lead its jobs. Seaford is mostly small warehouses and factory units, and Seaford North, between EastLink and the Mornington Peninsula Freeway, has larger buildings. The estates sit inside EastLink, the Mornington Peninsula Freeway and the Dandenong Valley Highway, with Wells Road, Hall Road and Ballarto Road carrying traffic into them. With EastLink at the door, Carrum Downs suits warehousing that serves the south east, though the land itself is close to fully developed.
Manufacturing and construction trade businesses first, then warehousing.
Line, assembly and packing hands for the manufacturers through Carrum Downs and Seaford North.
Receival, picking and despatch for warehouses serving the south east off EastLink, and for the stores attached to trade suppliers.
LF holders for yards and docks and LO holders for racked stores, with the class checked against your machines before anyone is offered.
General and skilled labourers, concreters, formworkers and steel fixers for construction businesses working across the south east and the peninsula.
Not an exhaustive list. If your site is nearby and not named, ask.
Bluestone Labour Group holds Victorian Labour Hire Licence VICLHL11535. In Victoria a host business must use a licensed labour hire provider, and you can check our licence on the Labour Hire Authority register before you book.
Most businesses in these estates are small or medium sized, so a request is often one or two people for a few weeks rather than a full shift. We give a single worker request the same checks as a crew, and we keep the same people on your site where we can, so you are not inducting someone new every week.
Every worker is a casual employee on our payroll: construction roles under the Building and Construction General On-site Award 2020, warehouse roles under the Storage Services and Wholesale Award 2020, and production roles under the award that covers the work. We pay the wages, superannuation and WorkCover, and send one weekly invoice from the timesheets your supervisor approves.
Right to work is checked and High Risk Work Licences are sighted before anyone is offered, and for construction roles we check the White Card and any tickets the site has asked for. Tell us the start time and where the crew meets, because construction businesses here often send people to jobs across the south east and the peninsula rather than to the estate itself. Give us as much notice as you can, especially for ticketed construction roles, and if we cannot fill a request we tell you. There is no sign up fee and no lock in contract.
