Casual labour hire in Melbourne. Casual labour hire suits work where the hours and headcount move: a production line ramping for an order, a distribution centre heading into peak, or a civil crew short two labourers for a pour. Give us as much notice as you can, and we tell you plainly what we can cover. The casual charge rate is built on the award wage plus casual loading, superannuation, WorkCover and payroll tax, with our margin on top, so there is no separate leave liability for you to carry. Demand is not the same across the city. The west and north run warehousing and subdivision civil, the south east runs production and distribution. We place accordingly.
Bluestone provides labour hire in Melbourne for three kinds of site: civil construction, warehousing and distribution, and manufacturing. Civil labourers and plant operators go mainly to subdivision and infrastructure work in the western, northern and south eastern growth corridors. Warehouse staff and forklift operators go to distribution centres around Truganina, Laverton North, Derrimut, Epping and Dandenong South. It depends on the role, the tickets and where the site is. Tell us as early as you can, with the site, the start time, the tickets and how many people. We confirm in writing who we can supply before anyone starts, and if we cannot cover a request we tell you straight away.
The white card on the national register, right to work, any high risk work licence or ticket the role needs, and a driver licence and transport where the site needs it. Plant operators engaged with their own machine also have their ABN and public liability sighted. Casual employees are covered by WorkCover and superannuation from their first shift. We ask for a police check where the site or client requires one.
Our workers are casual employees on the Bluestone payroll under the relevant award, which for civil work is the Building and Construction General On-site Award, so we handle wages, tax, superannuation and WorkCover. The only exception is a plant operator who brings their own machine, who can be engaged on an ABN with their own public liability insurance. You receive one weekly invoice for the whole crew.
Yes. Bluestone Labour Group holds Victorian Labour Hire Licence VICLHL11535, granted by the Labour Hire Authority under the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (Vic). In Victoria a host must only use a licensed provider, so the obligation sits with you as well as with us.
One invoice a week covering every worker on your site. Timesheets are approved by your supervisor before we bill. There are no sign up fees and no lock in contracts. Rates are quoted per job once we know the role, the hours and the site.
The worker is a casual employee of Bluestone, not of your business. We pay their wages at or above the relevant award with casual loading, and handle PAYG, superannuation and WorkCover. You direct the work on site and approve the hours, and we invoice weekly against those approved timesheets.
